Development and Expansion of the Olympiad

The second edition of the International Nuclear Science Olympiad was held from July 30 to August 6, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was hosted by the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuklear Malaysia).

This edition brought together 56 male and female students from 14 countries worldwide, aiming to continue fostering collaboration among youth interested in nuclear science. Participants once again competed in theoretical and experimental rounds, alongside additional enrichment activities, including laboratory visits and cultural exchange programs.

The International Nuclear Science Olympiad continues to serve as a platform for scientific exchange, youth engagement, and international cooperation, with the International Atomic Energy Agency encouraging future host countries to expand participation to regions beyond the Asia–Pacific in the coming years.
